Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be older than 18 years old
- You must have heart disease that causes frequent chest pain (angina) that is severe — rated as Class 3 or 4, meaning it happens with minimal activity or even at rest — and has not improved after at least 30 days of the best available medications
- Your doctors (specifically two independent senior specialists) must have decided that you are not a suitable candidate for surgery or a procedure to open blocked heart arteries
- Tests must show that part of your heart muscle is not getting enough blood but could potentially recover, as confirmed by a specific type of heart ultrasound or a nuclear scan
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a heart attack or serious heart event in the last 3 months
- You have had a procedure to open heart arteries (stenting) or heart bypass surgery in the last 6 months
- You have had unstable or worsening chest pain, including pain at rest with abnormal heart readings, in the 30 days before screening
- Your heart failure has become severely uncontrolled, or you were admitted to hospital because of heart failure in the last 3 months
- You have dangerous heart rhythm problems, or rhythm problems that would normally require a pacemaker or internal defibrillator
- You have severe lung disease, confirmed by a breathing test showing your lungs are working at less than 55% of what is expected
- You have severely damaged heart valves
- You already have a pacemaker or defibrillator wire placed in certain parts of your heart (the right upper chamber, right lower chamber, or a vein near the heart called the coronary sinus)
- You have previously had your tricuspid heart valve replaced or repaired
- You have a known allergy to stainless steel or nickel
- The vein near your heart used for the procedure (coronary sinus) has an unusual shape, unusual branches, or is too wide (over 12mm), as seen on a scan (confirm with trial site)
