Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are willing and able to give your consent to take part in the study
- You are aged between 18 and 75 years old (inclusive)
- You have been diagnosed with stable type 2 diabetes, confirmed by your GP's records along with either a glucose tolerance test or a specific blood sugar level result
Who may not be able to join:
- You experience chest pain (angina) or significant shortness of breath that limits your daily activities beyond a mild level
- You have serious artery disease, such as heart-related chest symptoms, a history of heart attack, previous heart bypass or stenting procedures, a stroke or mini-stroke, or leg artery disease causing symptoms
- You have an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
- You have moderate or severe problems with any of your heart valves
- You have a history of heart failure or a disease affecting the heart muscle
- You have type 1 diabetes
- Your blood test results suggest you may have a form of type 1 diabetes that started in adulthood (confirm with trial site)
- You have moderate to severe kidney disease, based on your kidney function test results
- You have any reason why you cannot safely have a cardiac MRI scan (confirm with trial site)
