Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children under 16 who meet the established medical classification criteria (called ILAR criteria) for a condition called systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA), which is a type of childhood arthritis with fever and inflammation
- People aged 16 or older who previously met the ILAR classification criteria for sJIA at some point in their life
- People aged 16 or older who meet the established classification criteria (called Yamaguchi criteria) for a condition called adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD), a rare inflammatory condition, including having had certain blood tests come back negative
- People aged 16 or older who were previously diagnosed with AOSD in the past, even if they no longer show active signs of the disease
- Family members of people in the above groups
- People with suspected sJIA, AOSD, or a similar inflammatory condition, shown by episodes of fever and/or joint pain and swelling
- Healthy volunteers or comparison participants (both children and adults) who are willing to provide a blood sample for research comparison purposes, as long as they are not pregnant
Who may not be able to join:
- Adults who are unable to give their own informed consent and do not have a legally authorised representative available to consent on their behalf; or children who do not have a parent or guardian available to consent
- People whose other medical conditions could, in the opinion of the research team, make the study results difficult to interpret
- People who are not available or are unable to attend the required follow-up visits
- People who are pregnant
- People who do not have known or suspected sJIA, AOSD, or a related inflammatory condition will not be followed in the study
