Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older and are willing and able to give your consent to participate
- You are being treated for acute heart failure, whether your heart pumps with reduced or normal strength
- You are receiving treatment for fluid build-up in the lungs (pulmonary edema), such as water pills (diuretics) taken by mouth or given through a drip
- You were identified for this study within 48 hours of starting or increasing your diuretic (water pill) treatment in the emergency department or hospital
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to have an MRI scan for any medical reason (for example, having a certain type of metal implant in your body)
- Your medical team considers you too unwell or unstable to be safely moved to the MRI scanner within the required time window
- You have moderate to severe dementia
