Who might be able to join this trial:

- People who are living with HIV-1 (but not also infected with HIV-2)
- People who receive their HIV care at the Regional Hospital of Orléans, France
- People who fit into one of the specific patient groups listed below

Specific patient groups this trial is looking for:
- Group A1: People who have been on HIV treatment for at least 4 years with an undetectable viral load, where treatment started during the long-term (chronic) phase of HIV, and whose CD4 immune cell count is below 500 cells/ml at the time of joining
- Group A2: People who have been on HIV treatment for at least 4 years with an undetectable viral load, where treatment started during the chronic phase of HIV, and whose CD4 count is above 500 cells/ml at the time of joining
- Group B: People who have been on HIV treatment for at least 4 years with an undetectable viral load, where treatment began very early — within 4 months of first being infected
- Group C1: People who have never taken HIV treatment, still have detectable HIV in their blood, need to start treatment, and were diagnosed within 4 months of being infected
- Group C2: People who have never taken HIV treatment, still have detectable HIV in their blood, need to start treatment, were diagnosed more than 1 year after infection, and have a CD4 count above 200 cells/ml
- Group C3: People who have never taken HIV treatment, still have detectable HIV in their blood, need to start treatment, were diagnosed more than 1 year after infection, and have a CD4 count below 200 cells/ml
- Group D: People who have an undetectable HIV viral load without taking any HIV treatment — either naturally (sometimes called "HIV controllers" or "elite controllers") or after having stopped treatment and maintaining an undetectable level
Who may not be able to join:
- People whom the trial doctor believes would be unable to follow the requirements of the study
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, reduced blood supply to the intestines, problems absorbing nutrients, or other gut-related conditions that the trial doctor believes could affect the study results
- People who have a known blood clotting disorder or an unexplained history of unusual bleeding
- People who are currently taking blood-thinning medication, whether by mouth or injection, for any reason
- People covered by certain articles of the French Public Health Code relating to protected groups, including minors and legally protected adults (confirm with trial site)
- People who are under legal guardianship or a similar form of supervised legal protection
- People who do not have French health insurance coverage
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial that is testing a treatment
