Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been admitted to hospital with acute (sudden or severe) heart failure
- People whose doctor considers them ready to be discharged from hospital after being treated for acute heart failure
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have been fully informed about how the study works and have signed a consent form agreeing to take part
- People who are covered by a social security (health insurance) scheme
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a serious illness where life expectancy is 3 months or less
- People who are on dialysis (either peritoneal dialysis or haemodialysis), or whose kidneys are functioning at a very low level (confirm with trial site for specific measurement)
- People who have previously had surgery to remove part or all of a lung (called a lobectomy or pneumonectomy)
- People with serious lung or lining-of-the-lung conditions — such as severe emphysema, ongoing fluid around the lungs, or pulmonary fibrosis — that would make lung ultrasound scans unreliable
- People who are pregnant, in labour, or currently breastfeeding
- People who are under a legal protection order, such as guardianship or a similar arrangement
- People who are not able to give their own informed consent
- People who are currently deprived of their liberty by a court or government decision
- People receiving psychiatric care under specific French public health laws (confirm with trial site)
