Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with HIV for at least 5 years
- People who have been on combination HIV medication (multiple antiretroviral drugs together) for at least 3 years
- People who have no HIV-related symptoms and no opportunistic infections (illnesses that take advantage of a weakened immune system) at the time of joining the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who exercise regularly
- People who are malnourished or have significant nutritional deficiencies
- People who have been diagnosed with any of the following conditions: coronary artery disease, ischemic diseases, lung disease, diabetes, Chagas disease, tuberculosis, heart failure, or high blood pressure
- People who use a pacemaker, or who take antidepressant, heart rhythm, or blood pressure medications — particularly beta-blockers
