Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have coronary artery disease (narrowed heart arteries) and experienced a cardiac arrest caused by a dangerous abnormal heart rhythm, and who had a procedure to open or bypass the blocked arteries before having a defibrillator device (ICD) implanted.
- People aged 18 or older.
- People whose heart pumping strength (measured as "ejection fraction") was above 35% at the time they left the hospital, based on the most recent heart function test used to guide their current treatment.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cardiac arrest was caused by something other than blocked heart arteries, such as an inherited heart rhythm condition or a heart muscle disease unrelated to blocked arteries.
- People who had open-heart bypass surgery (CABG) within the 3 months before their hospital admission for the cardiac arrest.
- People with a life expectancy of less than one year, or who have serious lasting brain or neurological damage.
- People who are unable or unwilling to provide their consent to participate in the trial.
- People who are pregnant.
