Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- Both men and women are welcome to apply
- You must be able to understand and agree to take part in the study yourself
- You have been diagnosed with a heart muscle condition called cardiomyopathy or an inflammation of the heart called myocarditis
- You have a close family member (such as a parent, sibling, child, grandparent, aunt, or uncle) who has been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy
- Pregnant women are also eligible to take part in this study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not able to give their own consent to take part
- People under 18, prisoners, those in a dependent relationship with a caregiver or doctor involved in the study, or those with a serious mental illness
- People who have been told by their doctor that their heart muscle condition is caused by blocked or narrowed heart arteries (coronary artery disease)
- People who have previously had a procedure to open blocked heart arteries (such as a stent) or heart bypass surgery
- People who have a heart valve problem or a heart defect that was present from birth as their main heart condition
- People with very high blood pressure that is severe and cannot be controlled or treated (confirm with trial site)
