Who might be able to join this trial:
- People with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver and who are scheduled to have surgery to remove those liver tumours.
- People who have at least one liver tumour that is 3cm or larger in size.
- People who are in generally good physical health, able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (this is measured on a standard medical scale rated 0–1).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have liver cirrhosis (scarring of the liver).
- People whose cancer has spread to areas outside the liver in a way that cannot be treated with the aim of a cure.
- People who have had another type of cancer in the five years before their current diagnosis.
- People who have previously had a treatment called RFA (radiofrequency ablation), which uses heat to destroy tumour tissue.
