Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 or older at the time of signing consent
- People with a general health/activity level rated as fully active, restricted in strenuous activity but able to do light work, or able to care for themselves but unable to work (this is measured using a standard scale called ECOG — confirm with trial site)
- People who have been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer confirmed by biopsy, at an early to locally advanced stage (not yet spread to distant parts of the body)
- People whose breast cancer falls into one of these categories: triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC); OR hormone receptor-positive breast cancer with certain high-risk features such as HER2-positive status, cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes, a high-risk gene expression result, or being progesterone receptor-negative; OR HER2-positive breast cancer
- People whose blood test results show that the blood, kidneys, and liver are functioning well enough, as tested within 30 days before enrolling
- People with no evidence that the cancer has spread to distant parts of the body
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part and allowing their health information to be used
- Women who could become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test result before enrolling
- People who are able to understand and follow the study procedures for the full length of the trial, as assessed by the enrolling doctor
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have already received any cancer treatment for their current breast cancer, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation to the breast or nearby lymph nodes, or any experimental treatment
- People who have breast implants of any kind
- People who currently have an active infection that requires treatment with medication taken throughout the body (such as antibiotics given by IV or by mouth)
- People with HIV/AIDS that is not well controlled, or who have an active hepatitis infection
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have had or currently have another type of cancer that could interfere with assessing the safety or effectiveness of this trial's treatment, as determined by the treating doctor
- People who have a mental or medical condition that prevents them from giving informed consent or taking part in the trial, unless a legally authorised representative is available to provide consent on their behalf
- People with other serious health conditions, as determined by the lead study doctor
