Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older (both men and women)
- People who are currently in hospital with a main diagnosis of acute worsening heart failure or a heart attack
- People whose heart failure has been confirmed through symptoms, physical signs, fluid build-up in the lungs, abnormal heart-related blood test results (BNP or NT-proBNP), or evidence of reduced heart function
- People whose heart attack has been confirmed through chest pain, arm pain, or breathlessness, along with elevated Troponin levels in the blood and/or abnormal heart rhythm readings (ECG changes) that require either a procedure or medication
- For one part of the study (Phase 2): people aged 50 or older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have at least one additional health risk factor (confirm with trial site for the specific risk factors)
- For Phase 2: people who are able to be enrolled within 48 hours of a positive COVID-19 antigen test result
Who may not be able to join:
- People who the study doctor considers unlikely to reliably attend follow-up visits
- People who are unable or unwilling to provide informed consent before the study begins
