Who might be able to join this trial:
- People whose heart is not pumping blood as strongly as normal (the heart's pumping function is measured at less than 50%)
- People whose heart's main pumping chamber is larger than the normal range for their body size and age
Who may not be able to join:
- People with any signs of blocked heart arteries (ischemic heart disease), including results from artery imaging, blood flow scans, a specific scarring pattern seen on heart MRI scans, or a history of heart attack or procedures to open blocked arteries
- People with a condition where the heart muscle is abnormally thick (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), moderate to severe heart valve problems, or diseases where abnormal substances build up in the heart (such as amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, or Fabry disease)
- People with constant, uncontrolled irregular heart rhythms
- People who are unable to lie flat
- People who are pregnant
- People for whom an MRI scan would not be safe, including those with severe claustrophobia, an implanted defibrillator or pacemaker, certain types of metal clips in the brain, metal fragments in the eye, or advanced kidney disease (Stage IV or V)
- People with diabetes that has caused damage to other organs in the body
- People who are unable to give their own informed consent to participate
