Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for at least six months, based on recognised 2010 diagnostic guidelines

- People who are unable to give informed consent to participate

- People who have had a surgical procedure that cut or removed the vagus nerve (a nerve running from the brain to the abdomen), on one or both sides
- People with active or latent (dormant) tuberculosis
- People with a known HIV infection, current or chronic hepatitis B or C infection, or a previous hepatitis B infection
- People who test positive for COVID-19 (via PCR test) at the time of screening for this trial
- People who currently have an electrically active medical device implanted in their body, such as a pacemaker or an implantable heart defibrillator
- People who have previously had their spleen removed
