- People who are older than 18 years of age and have been diagnosed with rotator cuff syndrome that is being treated without surgery.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had previous surgery on their shoulder.
- People who are receiving a corticosteroid (steroid) injection at their first visit.
- People who do not have a mailing address.
- People whose primary language is not English.
- People who are unable to sleep on their side.
- People who have a pre-existing sleep disorder diagnosed as clinical insomnia.
- People who have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (a condition where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep).

Change in Sleep Difficulty as Assessed as Assessed Using the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI); Change from Baseline in Pain Scores on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS); Change in Quality of Life as Assessed Using the Euroqol (EQ-5D); Change in Shoulder Function as Assessed Using the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Shoulder Score (ASES); Change in Shoulder Function as Assessed Using the Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE); Change in Shoulder Function as Assessed Using the Western Ontario Rotator Cuff Index (WORC)
