Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with either mild memory problems (amnestic MCI), Alzheimer's disease dementia, or have been assessed as clinically normal
- You are able to read and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- Your medications have not changed in the 4 days before the study assessments take place
- You are fluent in German
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to give your own consent to participate, or you have a legal guardian making decisions for you
- You have another serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
- You are currently experiencing significant depression
- You are currently having thoughts of suicide
- You are currently misusing alcohol, drugs, or medication
- You have had a serious head injury in the 3 months before joining the trial
- You have damage or abnormalities in specific deep areas of the brain (basal ganglia or brain stem)
- You have a serious neurological condition such as epilepsy, stroke, repeated mini-strokes, high pressure in the brain, or certain other brain-related conditions
- You have a serious medical condition such as heart failure, breathing failure, or very high blood pressure that is not well controlled
- You have an electronic implant in your body (such as a pacemaker) or any other reason you cannot safely have an MRI scan
- You have significant kidney disease (confirm with trial site for exact details)
- You are pregnant
- You have had a cancer that has not been fully resolved within the past two years
- You have a serious current infection or other ongoing chronic or widespread illness
- The trial doctor believes there is any other reason you should not participate
