- You have had a heart attack (either a STEMI or NSTEMI type)
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- You are expected to be discharged from hospital within 7 days of your heart attack
- You are willing to have a small heart monitoring device inserted under your skin within 21 days of your heart attack
Who may not be able to join:
- You already have an implanted heart device, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, or heart monitor
- You are pregnant
- Your heart attack happened more than 21 days ago
- You are unwilling or unable to have the small heart monitoring device inserted within 21 days of your heart attack
- You are already planned to receive a defibrillator implant, heart bypass surgery, or any other open-heart surgery (for example, for a serious heart valve problem)
