Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have been diagnosed with colon or rectal cancer (inside the abdominal cavity) confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
  • Your original tumor meets specific pathology requirements: it was at an early-to-moderate stage, was fully removed with clear margins, does not have certain genetic changes (B-RAF must be normal), and does not have a large mucus-producing component (confirm with trial site)
  • Scans (CT, MRI, and PET/CT) show no signs that the cancer has spread outside the liver or come back at the original site
  • Your liver tumors cannot be removed by surgery to cure the cancer
  • Your cancer responded well to first-line treatment for at least 4 months, OR showed at least stable disease during second-line treatment for at least 4 months
  • A specific blood marker for cancer (CEA) has been stable or going down leading up to the liver transplant
  • You are in reasonably good general health and able to carry out most daily activities (ECOG score 0–2; confirm with trial site)
  • You are willing and able to give informed consent and attend all required treatments and follow-up appointments

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a hereditary bowel cancer condition such as Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) or Lynch syndrome
  • Your cancer has previously spread outside the liver, or the original tumor has come back
  • Your original bowel cancer surgery was done only to relieve symptoms, not to fully remove the cancer
  • Your cancer is currently getting worse (progressing)
  • You have had another cancer in the past 5 years (although certain minor skin cancers and early-stage cervical cancer may be exceptions — confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently misusing drugs intravenously or regularly misusing alcohol (you may still be considered if you can show more than 6 months of abstinence)
  • You have an active HIV infection
  • You have significant psychiatric conditions or a history of not following medical treatment plans
  • The trial doctors have any other specific concern about your participation (confirm with trial site)
