  • People aged 19 years or older.

  • People who already had breast implants before their breast cancer diagnosis, or who had already completed reconstructive surgery before joining the trial.
  • People who had reconstruction surgery after a partial breast removal rather than a full mastectomy.
  • People who are currently using or planning to use an air-filled tissue expander.
  • People receiving radiation therapy for the purpose of trying to cure a recurrence or to manage symptoms of advanced cancer.
  • People who had cancer that had spread to other parts of the body at the time of their original diagnosis.
  • People who are due to receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy at the same time.
  • People who have cancer in both breasts.
  • Male breast cancer patients.
  • People who have previously received radiation therapy to the same breast or to the area above the collarbone on the same side.
  • People with a history of cancers other than thyroid cancer, a pre-invasive cervical condition, or skin cancer.
  • People whose breast cancer was identified as a specific non-invasive or less common tumour type, including ductal carcinoma in situ, lobular carcinoma in situ, phyllodes tumour, metaplastic cancer, or a benign tumour.
