Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are HIV-positive
- People whose immune system is in a stable range, shown by a CD4+ T cell count above 200 cells/ml in a blood test
- People whose HIV is well-controlled, with a very low amount of virus detected in the blood (fewer than 1,000 copies per mL)
- People who have been on a stable HIV treatment regimen for at least 3 months
- People who have never received the Gardasil-9 HPV vaccine and are aged 45 or under, OR people who have records showing they received all 3 doses of either the Gardasil-4 or Gardasil-9 HPV vaccine in the past
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a medical reason that would make vaccination unsafe (this applies only to those who have never received the HPV vaccine)
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who are currently experiencing an acute (sudden or short-term) illness
- People who are taking ongoing steroid medication at a dose higher than 0.5mg/kg of prednisone, or an equivalent amount of another steroid
- People who are taking medications that affect how the immune system works
- People who have received a blood transfusion or blood products within the past 6 months
- People who have received any other vaccine within the past month
- People who are not able to provide written informed consent to participate
