Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older (male or female)
- You have been diagnosed with a flare-up of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), meaning one or more sinus symptoms have gotten worse, such as a blocked or stuffy nose, nasal discharge, facial pain or pressure, or a reduced sense of smell
- You had a sinus surgery called functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) more than 12 months ago, and your sinuses are open enough to be suitable for the trial (as decided by the study doctor)
- You are willing to follow all study procedures for the full length of the study
- You understand what the study involves and are willing to sign a consent form
- People of all races, genders, and financial backgrounds will be considered equally
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently using antibiotic rinses/irrigations in your nose and are not willing to stop them
- You are unable to fill out questionnaires on your own due to memory or thinking difficulties, a language barrier, or a serious health condition
- You have a terminal illness (such as cancer), a weakened immune system (due to medication or an immune disorder), or certain systemic diseases affecting the sinuses (such as cystic fibrosis or autoimmune conditions), or you have recently had a head or sinus injury
- You have serious or urgent complications from your sinus condition, or you have a tumor in your sinuses
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, or there is a chance you could be pregnant
- You have taken oral (swallowed) antibiotics in the last 2 weeks, or you are currently taking oral steroid medications
- You currently have cold or upper respiratory symptoms such as fever, chills, sneezing, a runny nose, sore throat, or coughing (you may be able to join once these symptoms have fully gone away, if you meet all other criteria)
