Who may be able to join
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old.
- People who have been taking hormone therapy (such as tamoxifen and/or aromatase inhibitors), with or without treatment to suppress ovarian function, for at least 4 weeks and are still currently on that treatment.
- People who have been experiencing vasomotor symptoms (such as hot flashes and sweating) for at least 6 weeks.
- People who are premenopausal (still having periods) or postmenopausal (periods have stopped).
- People who have been having persistent hot flashes for at least 4 weeks, occurring more than 14 times per week (at least twice per day), with a specific hot flash severity score of 3–4 in the week before joining the study.
- People who have already had surgery and have completed chemotherapy (if chemotherapy was part of their treatment).
- People with a general health and activity level rated at 0–1 on a standard medical scale, meaning they are fully active or have only minor limitations in physical activity (confirm with trial site).
- People who have given their written consent and agree to take part in the study voluntarily.
Who may not be able to join

- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body, or who are currently receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy, or who are planning to have surgery.
- People who have been taking medications for hot flashes — such as antidepressants (SSRIs) or anti-seizure medications — for at least 4 weeks before the study begins.
- People who have an unstable heart condition or who had a heart attack within the 6 months before the study starts.
- People who started or changed their hormone therapy within the past week, or who plan to start or change their hormone therapy within the next 14 weeks.
- People who have had seizures of unknown cause or who have a history of seizures.
- People who have used acupuncture to treat hot flashes within the 6 months before the study starts.
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have an active, uncontrolled infection.
- People who have a mental illness or a family history of mental illness, or who have a neurological condition or a family history of a neurological condition.
