- You have been diagnosed with, or are suspected to have, liver cirrhosis (scarring of the liver), as determined by doctors at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Linköping University Hospital — this may be based on different types of tests, scans, or symptoms, and does not have to be confirmed by a tissue biopsy.

- You are willing and able to give written consent to take part in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:

- You have a condition called primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), which is a disease that causes scarring of the bile ducts in the liver.
- You have been diagnosed with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma/HCC).
