Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a man or woman between 18 and 85 years old who already has an implanted defibrillator (ICD) device in your chest
- You have been diagnosed with heart damage caused by a previous heart attack, confirmed by heart tests or imaging
- You have had one of the following in the last 6 months: at least 3 episodes of a fast, dangerous heart rhythm (VT) treated by your ICD or medication; at least 1 shock from your ICD; at least 3 VT episodes within a single 24-hour period; or a sustained dangerous heart rhythm that your ICD did not detect, recorded on a heart monitor or ECG
- Your doctors have decided you are a suitable candidate for a procedure called radiofrequency (RF) ablation to treat your dangerous heart rhythm
- You are able and willing to attend all required appointments before, during, and after the trial
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- Your kidneys are not working well enough, based on specific blood or urine test results (confirm with trial site)
- Your heart's pumping ability is very severely reduced (ejection fraction of 10% or below)
- A blood clot has been found inside your heart's main pumping chamber on an ultrasound scan
- Doctors are unable to safely access the main pumping chamber of your heart through your blood vessels
- You have a condition that is likely to reduce your life expectancy to less than 12 months
- You have the most severe level of heart failure symptoms (meaning you feel breathless or unwell even at complete rest)
- You have had heart surgery in the past 2 months (unless your dangerous heart rhythm was constant and uncontrolled)
- You have had an acute heart attack or serious heart artery problem in the past 2 months, confirmed by specific heart tests
- Your dangerous heart rhythm is being caused by something that can be fixed, such as an imbalance in your body's salts or a medication side effect
- You have severe narrowing of the aortic heart valve, or a severely leaking mitral heart valve
- You are pregnant
- You are unwilling or unable to sign the consent form
- You have tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the trial procedure
- You are currently enrolled in, or planning to join, another research study at the same time as this trial
