Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a Veteran between 18 and 89 years old
- You have been prescribed opioid medication by a doctor
Who may not be able to join:
- Your body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) is over 40 (confirm with trial site)
- You have a heart condition that has not been treated or resolved, such as a recent heart attack, recent heart bypass surgery, or untreated irregular heartbeats

- You currently have unstable chest pain (angina)
- You have had a stroke recently
- You have schizophrenia that is not being treated
- You have an underactive thyroid that is not being treated
- You have a seizure condition that has not been resolved
- You have severe disease affecting your lungs, nervous system, liver, or kidneys
- You have a psychiatric condition or PTSD that is not stable or not being treated
- You have had a traumatic brain injury
- You are pregnant
- You have a significant sleep condition such as narcolepsy or parasomnia (abnormal behaviors during sleep)
- You are not able or willing to give your formal consent to take part in the study
- You are currently taking tramadol or suboxone/buprenorphine
