Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), confirmed by biopsy, lab testing of cells, or clinical diagnosis by a doctor
- People whose liver cancer has stopped responding to a procedure called TACE (a treatment that delivers chemotherapy directly to liver tumours), based on specific criteria set by Japan's liver disease medical society (2021)

- People whose cancer has grown into the large vein that carries blood to the heart (vena cava)
- People who have previously received systemic drug therapy, immunotherapy, chemotherapy delivered through the liver artery (HAIC), or radiation therapy for their liver cancer
- People who have had an organ or cell transplant in the past
- People who have had bleeding from swollen veins in the oesophagus or stomach (a complication of liver disease)
- People who have had a history of hepatic encephalopathy (a condition where a poorly functioning liver causes confusion or brain-related symptoms)
- People whose platelet count (cells that help blood clot) is below 50×10⁹/L on blood tests
- People whose blood clotting time is significantly prolonged (prothrombin time extended by 4 seconds or more)
- People who have serious problems with their heart, lungs, or kidneys
- People who have had another type of cancer (other than liver cancer) in the past
