Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are over 18 years old at the time of signing the consent form
- People who have been confirmed through a tissue biopsy to have stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (a type of lung cancer), or whose stage III lung cancer has come back or spread after treatment with a drug called durvalumab, and whose cancer does not have certain specific genetic changes (in EGFR, BRAF, ALK, or ROS-1)
- People whose lung cancer has spread to one or more spots in the liver, whether it was already spread at first diagnosis or spread later
- People whose cancer is being treated with, or who are planned to start, a standard immunotherapy regimen (with or without chemotherapy) for at least 3 cycles — certain combination immunotherapy regimens are also allowed (confirm with trial site)
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within a certain range on a standard medical scale called the ECOG scale (scores 0 to 2, meaning fully active to capable of some self-care)
- People whose liver is functioning within acceptable levels based on blood tests (confirm specific values with trial site)
- People whose radiation treatment team has determined that a specialised type of targeted radiation to the liver (called L-SABR) can be delivered to all liver metastases
- People living with HIV, provided they are on effective HIV treatment and their immune cell count is at an acceptable level within 28 days before joining
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received radiation therapy to the liver
- People with a currently active Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C infection
- People taking medications that suppress the immune system, such as long-term steroids, cyclosporin, or methotrexate, or people with an active autoimmune disease
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Men or women who are not using effective contraception
