Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are currently serving or have previously served in the military or other uniformed services
  • You have been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that meets the criteria set by the Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense
  • Your TBI happened more than 90 days ago
  • You have been having sleep problems for more than 90 days
  • You currently experience insomnia symptoms, based on a standard questionnaire score (confirm with trial site)
  • You have enough thinking and memory ability to understand and agree to take part in the study (confirm with trial site)
  • You are over 18 years old
  • You have access to a computer and are able to use one

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a history of a neurological (brain or nerve) condition other than your TBI, unless it was caused by the TBI
  • You have moderate to severe sleep apnea (a condition where breathing stops and starts during sleep) that is not being treated — though if you have mild sleep apnea, you may still be allowed to participate after being informed about it
  • You use a CPAP machine (a device that helps with breathing during sleep) and your sleep apnea is not well controlled while using it, or you do not use it consistently enough (confirm with trial site)
  • You are taking psychiatric or mood-related medications but your dose has changed within the last three weeks before the study begins (those on a stable dose for at least three weeks may still be eligible)
