- People who have had a heart artery-opening procedure (coronary revascularization) using a newer type of small mesh tube (drug-eluting stent) to keep the artery open
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have an allergy or sensitivity to ezetimibe (a cholesterol-lowering medicine) or statins (another type of cholesterol-lowering medicine)
- People with active liver disease, or whose liver enzyme blood test results (AST/ALT) have been persistently raised to more than twice the normal level without a clear explanation
- People who have previously had to stop taking a statin because of a bad reaction to it
- Women who are pregnant, who could potentially become pregnant, or who are currently breastfeeding
- People who are not expected to live for more than 3 years
- People whom the trial investigators do not expect to be able to stay involved in the study for the full year after joining
- People who are unable to understand or read the informed consent form
