  • People who are the main nighttime caregiver (mother or father) of a healthy baby or toddler aged 6 to 24 months, born at full term, with no twin or multiple birth

Who may not be able to join:

  • Children who were born before 37 weeks or after 42 weeks of pregnancy
  • Children who have a developmental disability
  • Caregivers, or their partner, who currently work night shifts or overnight duties
  • Caregivers who have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder other than insomnia
  • Caregivers who have ever been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or related conditions, psychotic disorders, alcohol or substance-related disorders, disorders affecting memory or thinking, thyroid-related conditions, or epilepsy
  • Caregivers who are currently experiencing major depression, panic disorder with four or more nighttime panic attacks in the past month, or post-traumatic stress-related problems
  • Caregivers who are currently taking medications or using substances that directly affect sleep
  • Caregivers who are currently receiving cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi)
  • People who are currently pregnant
