Who may be able to join
- People who are Veterans and are registered as patients at Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Affairs Health Care System
- People who are able to fully understand and agree to take part in the research on their own
- People who have been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder according to standard medical guidelines (DSM-5)
- People who also have significant symptoms of post-traumatic stress alongside their social anxiety

- People who have been hospitalised for a psychiatric reason or have had a suicide attempt in the past 2 months, as recorded in their medical file
- People who have a serious or severe physical health condition that is likely to interfere with taking part in the study, as recorded in their medical file
- People who have started a new psychiatric medication within the last 4 weeks
- People whose main diagnosis is a condition involving psychotic symptoms, a personality disorder, a substance use disorder, or bipolar disorder
