Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been referred for their first course of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for depression that has not responded to other treatments, including those with unipolar major depression or bipolar depression
- People whose depression is considered treatment-resistant, meaning at least two different antidepressant medications at appropriate doses and for appropriate lengths of time have not worked well enough
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
- People who are unable to wear the Dreem device (a headband-style sleep monitoring device) during sleep recordings
