Who might be able to join this trial:

- People who meet the criteria for a substance use disorder involving illicit substances (not including tobacco, cannabis, or alcohol alone).
- People who experience internalized stigma related to their HIV status, substance use, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- People who have had a detectable HIV viral load in the past year, OR who take daily oral HIV medication and report taking it less than 80% of the time in the past month, OR who take daily oral HIV medication and report missing 7 or more days of doses in any single month over the past year, OR who use long-acting injectable HIV medication and report a gap of 14 or more days between injections at any point in the past year.
- People who are able to provide informed consent in English.
- People who can communicate verbally and read in English or Spanish.
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
- People who can provide documentation confirming their HIV-positive status.
- People who are willing to allow the trial team to access their HIV-related health records.
- People who have access to a cell phone that can send and receive text messages (the study may be able to provide a phone or plan if needed — confirm with trial site).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not living with HIV.
