Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who either tested positive for HIV using a rapid oral swab test at the trial location, or who have already been diagnosed with HIV (confirmed by an HIV clinic), and who have a low score on a measure of engagement with HIV care (a score of 10 or less on the CASE adherence index)
- People whose HIV virus level in the blood is above 200 copies per millilitre at the start of the study
- People whose main home is in the Mbarara or Rwampara district
- People who agree to follow the study procedures, including attending one of five specific HIV clinics if they choose to receive HIV care, and attending in-person visits with a study nurse at the start of the study, and again at 12 and 24 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unwilling or unable to take part in the study procedures, or who are unable to provide written consent to participate
