Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are between 19 and 80 years of age
- People whose liver is functioning at a level doctors classify as "Child-Pugh class A" (a measure of liver health — confirm with trial site)
- People whose general physical health and ability to carry out daily activities is rated as good to fully active (ECOG performance score of 0 or 1 — confirm with trial site)
- People diagnosed with liver cancer (HCC) that has grown into the blood vessels inside the liver, diagnosed according to standard medical guidelines
- People who have not yet received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for their liver cancer
- People who have at least one measurable liver cancer lesion that is 1 cm or larger
- People whose blood counts and organ function meet the following levels: haemoglobin at least 9.0 g/dL, neutrophil count at least 1,000 per mm³, and platelet count at least 50,000 per mm³ without needing a transfusion
- People whose total bilirubin (a liver marker in the blood) is at or below 2.5 mg/dL
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously received systemic (whole-body) treatment for liver cancer
- People who have had a liver transplant
- People with peptic ulcers, or with varices (enlarged veins, often in the digestive tract) that are untreated, incompletely treated, currently bleeding, or at high risk of bleeding
- People with any serious illness, active infection, active inflammatory condition, or a severe ongoing medical condition that is not well controlled
- People with a history of another cancer (other than liver cancer), unless that cancer has been in complete remission for at least two years, with no chemotherapy and no additional surgery during that time
- People who have had radiation therapy to the abdomen or pelvis within the 28 days before starting the study treatment (an exception may apply for palliative radiation to bone lesions within 7 days before starting — confirm with trial site)
