Who might be able to join this trial:

• People diagnosed with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma, or HCC) that cannot be removed by surgery, at a stage classified as BCLC B or C, confirmed by biopsy or clinical assessment
• People who have at least one measurable liver tumour that has not yet been treated
• People whose liver tumours can be treated with one or two sessions of a radiation-based therapy delivered through blood vessels (SIRT)
• People whose liver function score (Child-Pugh) falls between 5 and 7, indicating reasonably preserved liver function
• People who are fully active or have only minor restrictions in daily activity (ECOG performance status of 0 or 1)
• People with a life expectancy of at least 3 months
• People with active hepatitis B, provided antiviral treatment has brought the hepatitis B virus level below a certain threshold (HBV DNA below 1,000 IU/mL)
• People with hepatitis C who have completed their hepatitis C treatment

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose tumour takes up 70% or more of the liver
• People whose cancer has formed a blood clot blocking the main portal vein or both of its major branches going into the liver
• People whose cancer has spread into the large vein that carries blood to the heart (vena cava)
• People whose cancer has spread to the brain or central nervous system
• People whose cancer has spread to and involves major airways or large blood vessels
• People who have previously received certain liver-directed treatments — including chemotherapy delivered directly to liver arteries (HAIC), chemoembolisation (TACE), embolisation (TAE), radiotherapy, systemic drug therapy, or immunotherapy — for their liver cancer
• People who have had an organ or cell transplant in the past
• People with a history of bleeding from enlarged veins in the oesophagus or stomach (varices)
• People with a history of hepatic encephalopathy (confusion or brain symptoms caused by liver failure)
• People with low white blood cell or platelet counts below specified levels (confirm with trial site)
• People whose blood clotting time (prothrombin time) is significantly prolonged beyond normal levels (confirm with trial site)
• People with serious dysfunction of the heart, lungs, or kidneys
• People with a history of any cancer other than liver cancer (HCC)
• People who test positive for both hepatitis B surface antigen and hepatitis C antibodies at the same time
• People living with HIV
