Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have previously had a heart attack or a serious heart-related emergency (known as acute coronary syndrome)
- Your health is currently stable
- You typically spread your eating across at least 12 hours of the day (for example, eating from 8am to 8pm or longer)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have severe obesity, with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or above
- Your weight has gone up or down by more than 4 kg (about 9 lbs) in the last three months
- You have an unstable or serious condition affecting your heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, adrenal glands, or nervous system
- You take any medications or supplements that are known to affect sleep, your body clock, or metabolism
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- You regularly work overnight shifts more than one night per week on average
- You already fast for more than 15 hours a day, or you have done 12 full-day (24-hour) fasts in the past three months
- You currently use tobacco or illegal drugs, or you have had treatment for alcohol abuse in the past
- You have Type 1 diabetes, or any type of diabetes that is treated with insulin
- You take medications designed to reduce weight or that are known to affect body weight
- You are currently taking part in any weight loss or weight management programme, including surgery
- You have severe kidney problems (confirm with trial site)
- You have an eating disorder or a psychiatric condition that is currently not well controlled
- You have cancer that is currently being treated
- You have had surgery on your digestive system or have difficulty absorbing nutrients
- You have travelled across more than two time zones in the two months before joining, or you plan to do so during the study
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial involving a treatment or intervention
