Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes for at least one year.
- Your HbA1c blood sugar level (a measure of average blood sugar over 3 months) was 11% or below within the last 6 months.
- Your thyroid hormone levels were normal within the past year.
- You have not had a serious diabetes-related emergency (such as dangerously high or low blood sugar) requiring an ER visit or hospital stay in the past 2 weeks.
- If you have gastroparesis (a condition where the stomach empties too slowly), you have had symptoms for at least the past 3 months.
- If you have gastroparesis, you have had a specific stomach-emptying test confirming delayed emptying within the past 5 years (confirm with trial site).
- You own a smartphone (iPhone or Android) that can run the LibreView app.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your HbA1c blood sugar level is above 11% at the time of joining.
- You have advanced kidney disease or significantly reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site).
- You have serious heart disease or unstable chest pain.
- You have advanced liver disease that affects your blood sugar levels.
- You have had an organ transplant.
- You have had surgery on your stomach in the past.
- You currently have active symptoms of celiac disease, such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
- You are pregnant, or you are a woman of childbearing age who is not using adequate birth control for at least 28 days.
- You are currently taking steroids, immune-suppressing medications, or undergoing chemotherapy or radiation that could affect blood sugar levels.
- You are currently taking opioid pain medications or certain diabetes/weight-loss injections (such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Trulicity) — though you may be eligible after stopping these for 2 weeks.
- You use recreational or illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, or opiates.
- You are currently taking certain stomach-motility medications such as Reglan, Motegrity, Cisapride, Domperidone, or Erythromycin — though you may be eligible after stopping these for 1 week.
- You have significant abnormal findings from a recent upper digestive tract camera examination (endoscopy).
- Imaging has shown a blockage in your stomach or intestines.
- You have previously participated in this study.
