Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older at the time of screening.
- You have already been diagnosed with a type of heart condition called non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (a weakened, enlarged heart not caused by blocked arteries).
- You have been on the best possible heart medications at the highest doses you can tolerate for at least 3 months before screening.
- Your heart condition causes mild to moderate symptoms, such as shortness of breath or fatigue during everyday activities (confirm with trial site).
- A special heart scan (called a cardiac MRI) shows that your heart is pumping at 35% or less of its normal capacity.
- You are expected to live for more than 12 months.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of blocked or narrowed heart arteries that could explain your weak heart, including previous procedures to open arteries or significant blockages found on a heart scan.
- Your weak heart is thought to be caused by a heart defect you were born with, a problem with your heart valves, heavy alcohol use, or chemotherapy treatment.
- You have been diagnosed with a thickened or abnormally filled heart muscle, active inflammation of the heart, or scarring around the heart.
- You have previously survived a sudden cardiac arrest or had a serious abnormal heart rhythm called sustained ventricular tachycardia.
- Your heart condition causes severe symptoms even at rest or with the slightest activity (confirm with trial site).
- You are currently on an emergency waiting list for a heart transplant.
- You have previously received a transplanted organ such as a lung, liver, heart, or kidney.
