Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults over 18 years of age.
- People who have been diagnosed with their first episode of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS — a term for conditions where blood flow to the heart is suddenly reduced or blocked), as defined by European heart disease guidelines from 2017.
- People whose condition has been assessed as needing a procedure to open blocked or narrowed arteries using a catheter and small balloon or stent (a procedure done through the skin, not open surgery).

Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious heart valve disease or other heart conditions that would require open heart surgery.
- People who have previously had heart surgery, including bypass surgery.

- People with a known allergy or medical reason to avoid any of the following medications: heparin, aspirin, clopidogrel, ticlopidine, sirolimus, or everolimus.
- People for whom implanting a drug-coated stent (a small mesh tube placed in an artery to keep it open) is not considered medically appropriate.
- People with a documented history of a previous heart attack.
- People whose heart pumping function is measured at below 30% before the procedure (confirm with trial site).
- People who are in cardiogenic shock (a serious state where the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body's needs).
- People whose heart attack symptoms began more than 48 hours before treatment, or who show certain changes on a heart tracing (ECG) indicating an advanced stage, or who have received clot-dissolving medication.
- People with a previously known heart muscle condition where the heart's pumping function is measured at below 40%.
- People with cancer or another serious systemic illness where life expectancy is estimated to be less than one year.
- People with a known active infectious disease.
- People who are not able to give valid informed consent to participate.
- People who are pregnant.
