Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes for at least 3 years
• You have been taking medication or insulin for your diabetes for at least 2 years

Who may not be able to join:

• Your Type 2 diabetes is managed by diet alone, without any medication or insulin
• Your diabetes is severely out of control and requires a hospital stay
• You are currently taking more than one medication to help move food through your digestive system (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently taking opioid painkillers (such as morphine or codeine), or you have taken them within the last 12 months
• You have previously had surgery on your esophagus (food pipe) or major surgery on your stomach (such as removal or restructuring of part of the stomach)
• You have a blockage in your stomach outlet or intestines caused by scarring or narrowing
• You have a serious problem with blood clotting
• You have enlarged veins in your esophagus or stomach, or a related stomach condition linked to liver problems
• You have advanced liver cirrhosis (severe scarring of the liver)
• You are pregnant or have recently given birth
• You have, or have had, a cancerous or pre-cancerous condition in your stomach — although people who have been successfully treated and cured may still be eligible
• You have been diagnosed with rumination syndrome or an eating disorder such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia
• You have a systemic connective tissue disorder (a condition affecting tissues throughout the body — confirm with trial site)
• You are unable to give your informed consent to take part in the study
• You have any other condition that the trial doctor believes would interfere with the study (confirm with trial site)
