Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been confirmed by tissue testing to have a type of bile duct cancer that started inside the liver (called intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, or iCCA)
  • People who have been newly diagnosed with this type of cancer for the first time
  • People whose cancer came back after surgery that fully removed it, with no spread to lymph nodes or other parts of the body, and no large blood vessel involvement at the time of that surgery
  • People whose cancer is considered not suitable for surgery again, either because of where the tumor is, how far it has spread within the liver, or because of reduced liver function
  • People who show no sign of the cancer invading major blood vessels, spreading outside the liver, or reaching nearby lymph nodes, based on imaging scans
  • People who show no sign of cancer spread outside the liver after a full chest, abdomen, and pelvis CT scan and a PET-MR or PET-CT scan
  • People for whom at least six months have passed between their first diagnosis (or recurrence) and the date of being placed on the liver transplant waiting list
  • People who have completed at least six months of standard chemotherapy and whose cancer has either stayed stable or partially shrunk (as measured by standard imaging guidelines) by the time they are listed for a transplant
  • People whose blood test results meet specific levels for red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, liver function markers, and kidney function markers (confirm specific values with the trial site)
  • People who are in good enough general health to be largely active and able to carry out daily activities, with only minor limitations (confirm with trial site)
  • People whose body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30 kg/m²
  • People who have given signed agreement to take part and are expected to attend treatment and follow-up appointments as required

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose tumor has directly grown into nearby structures outside the liver, including major liver blood vessels (classified as T4 under standard staging guidelines)
  • People whose tumor has broken through the outer lining of the liver (classified as T3 under standard staging guidelines)
  • People who have previously had cancer spread to areas outside the liver
  • People who have had another type of cancer in the past, unless it was fully treated and has not come back for more than five years
  • People with a known history of HIV infection
  • People who have previously had an organ transplant or bone marrow transplant
  • People with substance use issues, or medical, mental health, or social circumstances that could affect participation in the study or the reliability of results
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who have medical or surgical reasons that would make a liver transplant unsafe for them
  • People who, in the opinion of the trial doctor, should not take part for any other reason (confirm with trial site)

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.

Based on publicly available eligibility criteria from ClinicalTrials.gov. Verify directly with the trial site before acting. This is not medical advice.

This study is not part of the standard drug-approval phase pathway (for example an observational, device, behavioural, or registry study), so a phase success rate does not apply.
