  • You have a significant problem with your heart's electrical signalling system (second- or third-degree heart block)
  • You have a major irregular heart rhythm condition, such as atrial fibrillation (including episodes that come and go)
  • You are scheduled to have a heart procedure or bypass surgery within 2 months of leaving hospital
  • You use insulin to manage your diabetes
  • You have a diagnosed breathing or lung condition
  • You have a joint or muscle problem that stops you from cycling
  • You are not able to give your informed consent to take part in the study
