Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to two sets of recognized medical guidelines (confirm with trial site)

  • You have leg pain or other physical issues that could interfere with study procedures
  • You currently have another pain condition that started suddenly and recently
  • You have another ongoing pain condition that you find more painful than your fibromyalgia
  • You are currently taking opioid pain medications
  • You have an inflammatory or autoimmune disease
  • You have a documented nerve damage condition in your hands or feet (confirm with trial site)
  • You are pregnant
  • You have a psychiatric history involving psychosis, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or severe personality disorders
  • You have a history of anxiety disorders or significant anxiety that could interfere with MRI scanning, such as panic attacks
  • You have been admitted to a psychiatric facility in the past 6 months
  • You are unwilling to avoid using marijuana for at least 12 hours before your scans
  • You are unwilling to avoid using nicotine for at least 4 hours before your scans
  • You have any other situation or condition that the study team believes would prevent you from completing the study
  • You are currently a patient of one of the clinicians involved in the trial
  • You have recently completed a formal meditation or mindfulness training program
