Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a type of heart condition involving an enlarged left atrial chamber (confirmed by a specific heart measurement)

- People who have had a heart attack, stroke, or mini-stroke (TIA), or a heart procedure (such as stenting, bypass surgery, or heart valve repair or replacement) within the past 90 days
- People who have a blood clot inside the heart
- People with severely limiting heart failure (classified as NYHA class III or IV)
- People with significantly reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site for exact threshold)
- People who have, or are scheduled to receive, a mechanical heart assist device or a heart transplant
- People with severe disease of the aortic or mitral heart valves
- People with complex heart defects present from birth
- People whose life expectancy is less than one year
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial that involves random assignment to treatment groups
