Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) through laboratory testing of tissue removed during surgery, where the surgical margin (the border between the tumour and the healthy tissue removed around it) was less than 1 centimetre wide
- People who are older than 18 years of age
- People who have recovered from their surgery and are able to carry out normal daily activities with little or no limitation (as measured by a standard medical scoring tool)
- People whose liver function falls within a specific healthy range, as measured by a standard scoring system called the Child-Pugh score (A5 or A6) (confirm with trial site)
- People with an estimated life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People whose cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body
- People whose blood test results meet specific minimum levels for red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets
- People whose liver enzyme levels (ALT and AST) are within acceptable ranges based on standard reference values
- People whose kidney function markers (creatinine and blood urea nitrogen) are within acceptable ranges based on standard reference values
- People who are willing to participate and have signed an informed consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of other cancers, except for a type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma or early-stage cervical cancer confined to its original location
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the abdomen
- People who have previously had a liver transplant
- People who have serious heart muscle disease or kidney failure
- People who have a moderate or severe build-up of fluid in the abdomen causing noticeable symptoms
- People where more than 3 months have passed since their surgery
