Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 19 years or older.
- People who have had surgery to remove part of the rectum (the lower part of the large bowel) due to rectal cancer, where the cancer was within 15cm of the opening of the back passage.

- People who have had radiation therapy to the affected area after their surgery.
- People who have other health conditions that are not well controlled by treatment.
- People who have inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
- People who have ongoing constipation or diarrhoea that cannot be controlled with medication.
- People who had problems with bowel leakage (fecal incontinence) before their surgery.
- People who are allergic to the study drug being tested in this trial.
- People considered unsuitable for the trial by the lead researcher or study team.
- People who score 1 or 2 on the ISI scoring scale.
