Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, meaning your heart is enlarged and does not pump blood as well as it should, confirmed by heart imaging tests, and without severe blockages in your heart arteries or major heart valve problems.
- You have tested positive for KSHV DNA (a virus called Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus) in your blood.
- You are willing to take part voluntarily and are able to sign a consent form.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are allergic to rapamycin (also known as sirolimus) or any medicines related to it.
- Your blood test shows that your levels of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell that fights infection) or platelets (cells that help blood clot) are too low (confirm with trial site for exact values).
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
- You have taken part in another drug clinical trial within the last 3 months.
- You have a serious neurological condition, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's syndrome, progressive weakness in the legs, or significant hearing loss.
- You have a previous or current history of cancer or tumors, or a test has shown pre-cancerous changes in your body.
- Your heart condition is not currently being managed with the best available standard treatments (confirm with trial site).
