Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are able to give written consent to participate in the study
  • People who have been diagnosed with heart failure (classified as NYHA class II, III, or IV — meaning symptoms ranging from mild to severe) for more than 3 months, regardless of the type of heart failure

  • People who have previously taken certain heart medications — specifically an sGC stimulator, an ARNI, or an SGLT2 inhibitor — depending on which group of the trial is being considered (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have had heart bypass surgery, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, a heart attack (STEMI), or a heart valve replacement in the past 3 months, or for whom any of these procedures are planned within the next 3 months
  • People who have needed a blood transfusion due to blood loss in the past 3 months
  • People whose heart failure has been unstable, including a hospital admission for heart failure, within the past month
  • People with certain blood or bone marrow conditions, including myelodysplasia, chronic hemolysis (ongoing destruction of red blood cells), or who are currently receiving erythropoietin therapy
  • People with an active systemic inflammatory condition such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, or a current infection
  • People with cancer that is not currently under control
  • People with advanced chronic kidney disease (stage 4 or 5)
  • People with severe anaemia, where haemoglobin levels are below 90 g/L
  • People with conditions that cause long-term low oxygen levels, such as severe chronic lung disease, severe sleep apnoea, or those who require long-term oxygen therapy
  • People with a known allergy or intolerance to SGLT2 inhibitor medications
  • People with a history of recurring urinary or genital infections
