Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People between 18 and 70 years old (any gender).
  • People who have been newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) or medical assessment, and has not spread to any other organs.
  • People whose tumours can be seen on imaging scans and can be safely reached with a needle or probe.
  • People who have no more than 3 tumours in one half of the liver, with each tumour measuring 3 cm or smaller.
  • People who are reasonably active and able to carry out daily activities (as measured by a standard medical scoring tool), with a life expectancy of more than 3 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose liver is not functioning well, rated at the most severe level on a standard liver function scale, or who have serious yellowing of the skin or eyes, particularly caused by a blockage.
  • People whose liver has shrunk significantly, or whose tumours are so large that treating them would require affecting more than one-third of the total liver.
  • People with a life expectancy of less than 3 months.
  • People with serious problems affecting the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys, or who have difficulty with normal blood clotting.
  • People with other health conditions that are not well controlled, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, an ongoing active infection, or a mental health or personal situation that may make it difficult to follow the study requirements.
  • People with severe fluid build-up in the abdomen, around the lungs, or other problematic fluid accumulation.
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • People whom the trial researchers consider unsuitable for any other reason that could affect their participation in the study (confirm with trial site).
